Eastern Shore Twirlers
The Inside scoop for the Eastern Shore Twirler Mom's
Annual Fixed Expenses
If this is your first year doing competitive twirling then you'll possibly need some extra things that you might get away with not needing at the beginning of next competition year but then again, if your twirler grows at all...you may be paying for all these things again, in different sizes! It's also possible that the team baton will be your daughters size but if it's not then you will need to get her a baton for her solo's. But this is what you should expect to pay as the minimum for your twirlers first year.

Possible Additional Expenses
So you've decided to join the fabulous world of competitive twirling and your twirler tells you she "has to have" this and she "has to have" that, because she just does! Trust me if you or your twirler are what you call "girly" in any way then you're going to see so much color and sparkles someone is going to have to hide your wallet from you! It can be very inticing or intimidating, depending on your personality and budget, to go to one of the competitions and see girls wearing these beautiful expensive costumes and cute little baton shorts, baton shirts, baton blankets, baton jackets and baton cases. Everything is matchy matchy and cute. But you don't feel pressured to spend $100 on matching baton tops and bottoms when to be honest, your money would be better spent on a couple of private lessons with a world class twirler. If this is your very first year, you might be able to get away with not having to buy a solo costume if the team costume can be used as a solo costume. We did that our first year, except our first year our costume had a skirt so we used it for modeling and march and just had to buy a solo costume. I"m just saying the expenses can get outrageous and I don't want anyone to think they "have" to buy something that really is an optional thing. So, since i mentioned that it's possible you can wear your team costume as either your solor or modeling costume I'm going to put Costumes on here as a Possible Additonal Expense. But aside from the costumes, which likely you'll need to buy at least one, either solor or march, the rest of the things listed are not "must haves"

Travel Expenses
You'll find out that every competition brings a different level of expenses. We have some that are just a couple hours away in Montgomerey. Some that are a little further in birmingham and then we have one that's in Tallahassee. THat's not including if we go to Nationals at Notre Dame or if you decide to attend Twirl Mania at Disney in Orlando. So the costs can vary. One thing you can depend on is that each place has contest entry fee's. They usually are about the same price or at least very close, from competition to competition. I can list an estimate based on my experience but nothing it's just that, my experience and experiences change. :)
